At the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) Conference in Nashville TN I met a new friend and ministry partner. Her name is Tammy Daughtry, MMFT, and she has a ministry called One Heart Two Homes.
The first time I met her was at this same conference a few years ago. She had just published her book, Co-Parenting That Works, and I went to her workshop. I was so excited that “someone got it”! After her workshop I bought her book and met her as she had a book signing and took it home to read it. I was thrilled with what I read and found myself relating exactly to situations that she shared. The book was outstanding and is filled with numerous tips, real stories and encouragement for all who struggle with co-parenting issues. Through these past few years I have continued to recommend her book and was looking forward to crossing paths again this last week. And once again I was not disappointed.
Tammy has been one busy lady. She has now developed a single parent curriculum that is outstanding. She has accumulated input and wisdom from the top step family authors, such as Ron Deal, Dr. John Trent and Dr. Tony Wheeler, and together they have put together a a 10 week video/workbook curriculum that seriously opens the door to the real issues whether you are in a single parent home or a step family situation. She doesn’t side step the tough topics but hits them head on with grace and confidence. Some of her topics include Single Parent Stability, Co-Parent Communication, Risks for Children, Holidays and Special Occasions, Co-Parenting Finances, Dating and Remarriage.
